remains of GeoCities, a popular web host in the 90s and 00s - which sadly closed in 2009
- obliterating a massive swathe of the old internet. Fortunately much of the sites were
archived. These animations nearly all came from the Internet Archive's GifCities
GIF search engine.
I found these on GifCities by searching for 'cat', 'kitty', 'kitten', and
similar search terms in other languages
These GIFs are very old, and date from a time when the Neko desktop pet was widespread
and chasing cursors on thousands of home PCs worldwide.
